Ingredients
- 1/4 cup onion
- 1 cup fresh mushrooms
- 4 tbsp butter
- 1 1/2 tbsp granulated sugar (optional)
- 2 tbsp apple cider vinegar
- 2 tbsp fresh parsley
- 1/4 cup half-and-half cream or 1/4 cup light cream
- 2 cans (16 oz) green beans
- 1 cup creme fraiche or 1 cup sour cream (optional)
- 2 tbsp cooked crumbled bacon (optional)
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour (optional)
Steps
- Drain the green beans and chop the onion, mushrooms, and parsley.
- Melt the butter in a large skillet over medium heat, then cook the onion and mushrooms for 7 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and sugar, if using, and cook for 1 minute.
- Add the vinegar, cream, and green beans, then simmer for 10 minutes.
- Stir in the creme fraiche and bacon, if using, and cook for 3 minutes.
