- 4 pork chops
- 1 tsp kosher salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp brown sugar (optional)
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves fresh garlic
- 2 1/2 sprigs fresh thyme (optional)
Steps
- Pat the pork chops dry and rub them with salt, pepper, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, and brown sugar.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat for 2 minutes.
- Sear the chops for 4 minutes per side until browned.
- Add the butter, garlic, and thyme, then reduce the heat to medium-low and cook for 10 to 15 minutes, turning often.
- Check that the thickest part reaches 145 F, then rest the chops for 5 minutes.
