- 2 large apples
- 3 tbsp coconut sugar
- 1 tbsp almond flour
- 2 tsp tapioca starch
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 1/2 cup certified gluten-free old-fashioned oats
- 1/3 cup almond flour
- 1/4 cup tapioca starch
- 1/4 cup slivered almonds
- 1/4 cup coconut sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 3 tbsp + 1/2 teaspoon coconut oil
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and grease an 8-inch square baking dish with one-half teaspoon coconut oil.
- Toss the apples with lemon juice, three tablespoons coconut sugar, one tablespoon almond flour, tapioca starch, and cinnamon.
- Spread the apple mixture in the baking dish.
- Mix the oats, remaining almond flour, remaining tapioca starch, slivered almonds, remaining coconut sugar, salt, and melted coconut oil.
- Scatter the crumble over the apples and bake for 45 minutes, until golden and bubbling.
- Cool the crisp for 30 minutes before serving.
