Ingredients
- 2 olive oil plus extra for the dish
- 750 g lean beef mince
- 90 g pack prosciutto
- 800 g passata or half our basic tomato sauce
- 200 ml hot beef stock
- nutmeg
- 300 g fresh lasagne sheets
- white sauce
- 125 g ball mozzarella torn into thin strips
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and oil a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet, brown the beef and prosciutto for 8 minutes, and cook until the beef reaches 160 F.
- Stir in the passata, hot beef stock, salt, pepper, and nutmeg, then simmer the sauce for 15 minutes.
- Layer sauce, lasagne sheets, and white sauce in the dish, finishing with white sauce and mozzarella.
- Cover with foil and bake for 35 minutes, then uncover and bake for 10 minutes more.
- Rest the lasagne for 15 minutes before cutting.
