- 4 red apples
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/3 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/8 tsp ground nutmeg
- 1 cup gluten-free oat flour
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 cup gluten-free oats
- 1/2 cup cornstarch
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup butter
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-inch square pan.
- Cook the apples, 1 tablespoon cornstarch, 1/3 cup brown sugar, 1 teaspoon cinnamon, and nutmeg in a saucepan over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Mix the oat flour, 1/2 cup cornstarch, sugar, 1/2 cup butter, salt, and vanilla until crumbly.
- Press the mixture into the pan and spread the warm apple filling over it.
- Mix the oats, remaining cornstarch, remaining brown sugar, remaining cinnamon, remaining salt, and remaining butter into crumbs.
- Sprinkle the oat mixture over the apples and bake for 35 minutes, then cool for 5 minutes before cutting.
