Ingredients

1/2 cup maraschino cherries
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 cup sugar
1 cup cold butter
12 oz white chocolate baking squares with cocoa butter
2 tsp almond extract
2 drops red food coloring
2 tsp shortening

Steps

Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a baking sheet with cooking oil.
Chop the maraschino cherries and pat them dry with a clean towel.
Rub the cold butter into the flour and sugar, then mix in the almond extract and cherries.
Shape the dough into 24 small cookies and place them on the sheet.
