- 1 cup whole milk
- 1/3 cup water
- 2 tbsp melted butter
- 1/4 cup white sugar
- 2 1/4 tsp rapid rise yeast
- 3 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup melted butter
- 1/3 tsp almond extract
- 1 1/2 cups cherries
- 1 batch cream cheese glaze
Steps
- Stir the milk, water, melted butter, white sugar, and yeast together, then rest for 5 minutes.
- Mix in the flour and salt, knead the dough for 8 minutes, and let it rise in a covered bowl for 60 minutes.
- Roll the dough into a rectangle and spread it with melted butter, brown sugar, almond extract, and cherries.
- Cut the dough into pieces, stack them in a greased 9-by-5-inch loaf pan, and let it rise for 25 minutes.
- Heat the oven to 350 F and bake the loaf for 30 to 35 minutes, until golden and cooked through.
- Cool the loaf for 20 minutes, then drizzle it with the cream cheese glaze.
