Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup stick butter
  • 3/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated white sugar
  • 2 tbsp golden syrup
  • 2 tsp pure vanilla extract
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1/3 tsp salt
  • 3/4 cup chocolate chips

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 350 F and line two baking sheets with cooking oil.
  2. Beat the butter, brown sugar, granulated sugar, golden syrup, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. Beat in the egg, then stir in the baking soda, salt, and chocolate chips.
  4. Drop 18 spoonfuls of dough onto the baking sheets, leaving space between each one.
  5. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are crisp and the centers are still soft.
  6. Cool the cookies on the baking sheets for 10 minutes before moving them.
