Ingredients
- 3 tbsp butter
- 5 1/2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 tsp vanilla
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 3 1/2 tbsp chocolate chips or chunks
- granulated sugar for rolling
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and line a baking sheet with cooking oil or parchment if available.
- Melt the butter, then stir in the brown sugar, egg yolk, and vanilla.
- Mix in the flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Divide the dough into two balls, roll each in granulated sugar, and place them on the baking sheet.
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes, then cool the cookies on the baking sheet for 5 minutes.
