Ingredients
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 cup light brown sugar
- 1/3 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
- 3 1/2 tbsp halloween sprinkles
- 3 tbsp mini or regular m&ms (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease an 8-inch square baking pan with some of the butter.
- Melt the remaining butter, then whisk in the cocoa powder, brown sugar, granulated sugar, egg, and vanilla.
- Stir in the flour, baking soda, and salt until just combined, then fold in the chocolate chips.
- Spread the dough in the pan and top it with the sprinkles and optional M&Ms.
- Bake for 20 to 22 minutes, then cool the bars in the pan for 8 minutes.
