2 packages (16 oz) extra firm tofu
2 tbsp cornstarch
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp smoked paprika
1 tsp chili powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
2 tsp kosher salt
1 tbsp olive oil

Steps

Heat the oven to 425 F and set the broiler to high.
Press the tofu under a heavy pan for 10 minutes, then cut it into cubes.
Mix the cornstarch, brown sugar, paprika, chili powder, onion powder, garlic powder, and salt in a bowl.
Toss the tofu with the oil and spice mixture, spread it on a large sheet pan, and roast for 25 minutes.
Broil the tofu for 2 minutes, watching closely, until the coating is browned.
