Ingredients
- 8 oz egg noodles
- 4 slices thick bacon
- 14 oz kielbasa
- 1 tbsp butter
- 1 large yellow onions
- 4 cloves garlic
- 1 tsp caraway seeds
- 1/2 tsp brown sugar
- 8 cups cabbage
- 1 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp pepper
Steps
- Boil the egg noodles in salted water until just tender, about 7 minutes, then drain them.
- Cook the bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp, about 8 minutes, then chop it.
- Brown the sliced kielbasa in the skillet for 4 minutes, then add the butter, onions, garlic, caraway, brown sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Cook the onion mixture for 5 minutes, stirring often, until softened.
- Add the cabbage and 1/2 cup water, cover the skillet, and cook for 10 minutes until tender.
- Stir in the noodles and bacon, then cook uncovered for 5 minutes before serving.
