Ingredients
- 1 1/2 lb ground beef
- 1 small onion
- 1 red or green bell pepper
- 2 pork and beans
- 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
- 1/2 cup ketchup
- 2 tbsp spicy brown mustard
- 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 4 tbsp brown sugar
- 7 slices bacon
Steps
- Cook the ground beef, onion, and bell pepper in a large skillet over medium heat for 10 minutes, until the beef reaches 160 F.
- Stir in the pork and beans, barbecue sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and brown sugar.
- Transfer the mixture to a 9-by-13-inch baking dish and arrange the bacon slices on top.
- Bake uncovered at 350 F for 30 minutes, until bubbling and the bacon is cooked.
- Rest the beans for 5 minutes before serving.
