Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup pecans
- 3/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1/4 cup + 2 tbsp half and half
- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 28 pecan halves (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and line two baking sheets with baking paper.
- Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt, then beat 1 cup butter with 1 cup brown sugar until creamy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla, stir in the dry mixture, and fold in the pecans.
- Scoop the dough onto the sheets, bake for 10 to 12 minutes, and cool the cookies for 15 minutes.
