Ingredients
- 1 packages (12 oz) farmer john® thick-cut premium bacon
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- 2 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3/4 cup melted butter
- 3 tbsp maple syrup
- baking spray (optional)
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F and bake the bacon on a rimmed baking sheet for 15 minutes, until crisp.
- Drain and chop the bacon, then stir the flour, whole wheat flour, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
- Whisk the milk, egg, melted butter, and maple syrup in a second bowl.
- Stir the wet mixture into the dry mixture, then fold in the chopped bacon.
- Heat a waffle iron and cook the batter in batches for 4 to 6 minutes each, until firm and browned.
- Mix the sugar and cinnamon in a small bowl, then sprinkle it over the hot waffles.
