- 8 large eggs
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1 loaf french bread
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter
- 2 tbsp cream cheese
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 tbsp milk (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and butter a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Whisk the eggs, granulated sugar, milk, cinnamon, vanilla, and baking powder in a large bowl.
- Cut the French bread into cubes, toss them with the custard, and spread them in the dish.
- Melt 1/4 cup butter, stir in the brown sugar and cinnamon, and spoon the mixture over the bread.
- Bake for 35 minutes until the center is firm and the eggs are fully cooked.
- Beat the remaining butter, cream cheese, powdered sugar, vanilla, and optional milk, then drizzle it over the warm bake.
