Typical price: Salefork's estimate of an everyday US shelf price for each ingredient. Pick your city to price it from this week's ad.

The amounts listed are small for a full dinner, so this price per serving is likely low. Plan on a side or a bigger portion.

Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp balsamic vinegar
  • 1 tbsp worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp regular soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 3/4 cup unsalted chicken stock
  • 1 1/2 tbsp cornstarch + 2 tablespoons water
  • kosher salt
  • 1 tbsp regular soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp shaoxing wine
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/4 tsp ground white pepper
  • 1/4 tsp sesame oil

Steps

  1. Season the pork chops with salt and pepper.
  2. Set a six-quart Instant Pot to sauté, heat the olive oil, and brown the chops for 2 minutes per side.
  3. Add the onion, balsamic vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, sugar, and chicken stock.
  4. Lock the lid and cook on high pressure for 6 minutes, then release pressure naturally for 5 minutes.
  5. Check that the pork reaches 145 F, then transfer the chops to a plate and rest them for 3 minutes.
  6. Whisk the cornstarch with water, soy sauce, Shaoxing wine, salt, sugar, white pepper, and sesame oil, then simmer it in the pot for 2 minutes until thick.
