Ingredients
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 500 g minced beef
- 1 chopped onion
- 1 tbls tomato puree
- 1 1/2 tbsp plain flour
- 75 g mushrooms
- 250 ml beef stock
- 1 dash worcestershire sauce
- 400 g shortcrust pastry
- 1 egg yolks
Steps
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat and cook the onion and mushrooms for 6 minutes.
- Add the beef and cook for 8 minutes until it reaches 160 F.
- Stir in the flour and tomato puree, then slowly add the beef stock and Worcestershire sauce.
- Simmer the filling for 5 minutes until thick, then transfer it to a 9-inch pie dish.
- Cover the dish with pastry, seal the edges, and brush the top with egg yolk.
- Bake at 400 F for 20 minutes until the pastry is golden and crisp.
