- 4 oz bittersweet chocolate
- 3/4 cup unsalted butter
- 2 cups sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 bottle red liquid food coloring
- 1 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt

- 3 tbsp unsalted butter
- 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1/8 tsp salt
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and line a 9-by-13-inch pan with cooking oil.
- Melt the chocolate and 3/4 cup butter in a saucepan over low heat, then stir in the sugar, eggs, vanilla, food coloring, and salt.
- Whisk in the flour and baking powder until just combined.
- Spread the batter in the pan and bake for 25 to 30 minutes, until set in the center.
