Ingredients
- 1 pre-baked deep dish pastry pie crust
- 5 tbsp cornstarch
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 5 tbsp butter
- 3 cups heavy cream
- 1 tbsp vanilla extract
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 tbsp sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
Steps
- Whisk the cornstarch, sugar, and salt in a medium saucepan.
- Whisk in the heavy cream, then cook over medium heat for 8 minutes, stirring constantly until thick.
- Remove the saucepan from the heat, stir in 5 tablespoons butter and vanilla, and pour the filling into the pie crust.
- Melt the remaining butter and drizzle it over the filling, then sprinkle with the sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
- Cool the pie at room temperature for 30 minutes, then refrigerate it for 5 hours before slicing.
