Ingredients
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour
- 1 cup almond flour
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 2 tbsp milk
- 1 apple
- thin slices of sharp cheddar cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped pecans
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and lightly oil an 8-inch square baking pan.
- Stir the oats, whole wheat pastry flour, almond flour, brown sugar, baking soda, and milk until crumbly.
- Press two-thirds of the mixture into the prepared pan.
- Layer the apple slices and cheddar over the crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble and pecans over the top.
- Bake at 350 F for 25 to 30 minutes, until golden and firm.
- Cool the bars for 5 minutes before cutting.
