- 2 cups flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/2 cup apple
- 1/2 cup milk

Steps
- Heat the oven to 425 F and line a baking sheet with parchment.
- Whisk the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
- Cut in the butter, then stir in the chopped apple and milk until a soft dough forms.
- Pat the dough into a one-inch-thick circle, cut it into twelve wedges, and place them on the baking sheet.
- Brush the tops with milk and sprinkle with sugar or cinnamon if desired.
- Bake for 15 to 18 minutes, until golden and firm, then cool for 10 minutes.
