Ingredients
- 1 green cabbage
- 2 cups cooked rice
- 1 small onion
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2 cups crushed tomatoes
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- salt & black pepper to taste (optional)
Steps
- Heat the oven to 375 F and oil a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Shred the cabbage and chop the onion and garlic.
- Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium heat, then cook the onion and garlic for 5 minutes.
- Stir in the crushed tomatoes, oregano, paprika, salt, and pepper, then simmer for 5 minutes.
- Layer half the cabbage, half the rice, and half the tomato mixture in the baking dish, then repeat the layers.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 35 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for 10 more minutes, until the cabbage is tender.
