- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 tbsp orange blossom water
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 2 tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 egg
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tbsp orange blossom water
- 4 cups almonds
- 1 cup sugar
- 3 egg
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 1 lemon
- 2 tbsp orange blossom water
- sprinkling cornstarch
Steps
- Boil one cup water, one cup sugar, and one teaspoon lemon juice for 8 minutes, then stir in two tablespoons orange blossom water.
- Mix the flour, oil, egg, salt, lemon juice, and one tablespoon orange blossom water into a soft dough.
- Roll the dough thinly on a surface dusted with cornstarch and press it into small pastry molds.
- Mix the almonds, remaining sugar, eggs, baking powder, vanilla, lemon zest, and orange blossom water into a thick filling.
- Fill the pastry shells and bake at 350 F for 20 to 25 minutes, until golden and firm.
- Brush the hot pastries with the syrup and cool them completely.
