Ingredients
- 8 oz uncooked ziti or rigatoni
- 1 can (28 oz) italian diced tomatoes
- 1 jar (24 oz) fire-roasted tomato and garlic pasta sauce
- 1 package (16 oz) smoked sausage
- 2 cups shredded part-skim mozzarella cheese
- 1 cup 4% cottage cheese
Steps
- Heat the oven to 400 F and bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
- Boil the ziti until just tender, about 8 to 10 minutes, then drain it.
- Slice the sausage and brown it in a large skillet over medium heat for 5 minutes.
- Stir the tomatoes and pasta sauce into the skillet, then simmer for 5 minutes.
- Mix the pasta, sauce, sausage, and cottage cheese in a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Top with mozzarella and bake for 10 minutes, until bubbling and the cheese melts.
