Ingredients
- 3/4 lb green beans
- oil (optional)
- kosher salt (optional)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic powder (optional)
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
Steps
- Trim the green beans and pat them dry.
- Whisk the flour, milk, egg, baking powder, paprika, garlic powder, salt, and pepper in a medium bowl.
- Heat 1 inch of oil in a large skillet to 350 F.
- Dip the green beans in the batter, letting the excess drip back into the bowl.
- Fry the beans in small batches for 2 to 3 minutes, turning once, until crisp and cooked through.
- Drain the fries on a paper towel and season them with salt.
