Ingredients
- 2 slices good black bread
- 1 lb lean ground pork
- 1 small /medium onion
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp mrs. dash seasoning
- 3/4 tsp salt
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup italian bread crumbs
- oil to saute
Steps
- Tear the black bread into a bowl, add 3 tablespoons water, and soak it for 5 minutes.
- Finely chop the onion and mix it with the soaked bread, pork, egg, seasoning, salt, pepper, and mayonnaise.
- Stir in the breadcrumbs and rest the mixture for 5 minutes.
- Shape the mixture into small meatballs with wet hands.
- Heat oil in a 12-inch skillet over medium heat and sauté the meatballs for 12 minutes, turning often.
- Check that the centers reach 160 F, then rest the meatballs for 3 minutes.
