Ingredients

  • 1 cup flour
  • 3/4 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ginger
  • 1 pinch allspice
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1/4 cup applesauce
  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp melted butter
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tbsp milk
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar

Steps

  1. Heat the oven to 375 F and grease a 12-cup mini donut pan with cooking oil.
  2. Whisk the flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, ginger, allspice, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Stir in the brown sugar, egg, applesauce, milk, and melted butter until just combined.
  4. Fill the donut cups halfway and bake for 8 to 10 minutes, until firm and cooked through.
  5. Melt the butter with the remaining brown sugar, maple syrup, and milk in a small saucepan.
  6. Whisk in the powdered sugar, dip the cooled donuts in the glaze, and let them set briefly.
