Ingredients
- 1 1/2 tbsp butter
- 4 large eggs
- 2/3 cup half and half
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 tsp cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg (optional)
- 1/8 tsp salt
- icing from the cinnamon roll tubes
- 1 1/2 cups pecans
- 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2/3 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1 pinch salt
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 tbsp unsalted butter
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and grease a 9-by-13-inch baking pan with 1 1/2 tablespoons butter.
- Cut the cinnamon rolls into pieces and arrange them in the prepared pan.
- Whisk the eggs, half and half, vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt in a bowl.
- Pour the custard over the rolls and let it soak for 5 minutes.
- Mix the pecans, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, salt, vanilla, and 5 tablespoons butter into a crumbly topping.
- Scatter the topping over the rolls and bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until the center is firm and reaches 160 F.
- Drizzle the reserved icing over the warm bake.
