Ingredients
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 1/8 tsp black pepper
- 1 lb flank steak
- 1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
- 1/4 cup cold water
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 tbsp minced garlic
- 2 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 2 tbsp cornstarch
- 6 cups broccoli florets
Steps
- Slice the flank steak thinly across the grain and toss it with 2 tablespoons cornstarch and black pepper.
- Stir the soy sauce, cold water, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and remaining cornstarch in a bowl.
- Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat and cook the beef for 4 to 5 minutes until it reaches 145 F.
- Add the broccoli and cook for 5 minutes, stirring often, until bright green and tender-crisp.
- Pour in the sauce and stir for 2 to 3 minutes until glossy and thick.
