Ingredients
- 1 loaf herb or cheese bakery bread
- 1 lb bulk pork sausage
- 1 green pepper
- 1 onion
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 6 large eggs
- 1 tsp ground mustard
- 2 cups 2% milk
Steps
- Heat the oven to 350 F and oil a 9-by-13-inch baking dish.
- Cook the sausage, chopped green pepper, and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat for 8 to 10 minutes, until the sausage reaches 160 F.
- Cut the bread into cubes and spread half in the baking dish.
- Add the sausage mixture and cheddar, then cover with the remaining bread.
- Whisk the eggs, milk, ground mustard, salt, and pepper, then pour the mixture over the bread.
- Bake for 35 minutes, until the center is set and the eggs are fully firm.
