Ingredients
- 3 lb yukon gold potatoes
- 7 1/2 cups cold water
- 3 tsp kosher salt
- 4 tbsp salted butter
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup full fat sour cream
- 4 oz full fat cream cheese
- 1 clove garlic
Steps
- Peel and cut the potatoes into equal pieces, then peel the garlic clove.
- Place the potatoes and garlic in a large pot with the cold water and kosher salt.
- Bring the pot to a boil, then cook for 20 minutes until the potatoes are tender when pierced.
- Drain the potatoes and garlic, then return them to the warm pot.
- Mash in the butter, milk, sour cream, and cream cheese until mostly smooth.
- Season with salt and pepper, then stir until the potatoes are creamy.
